I love to use combination exercises or poses to warm up the body, and these two poses are perfect to practice prior to yoga, your workout regimen or simply on their own to get your body moving.

Incline plank (above)- begin in staff pose (seated with legs in front of you). Bring hands in line with your shoulders and press into the mat with your palms face down and your bottom lifted.  Extend both legs, softly pressing feet into the mat extending the spine. Hold for 3-5 breaths, or gently flow from one pose to the next.

Seated forward fold - from incline plank gently bring bottom down to the mat, slowly bringing your upper body down toward your legs.  Don't force your way down.  Allow your upper body to flow down as far as it wishes to go.  Hold for 3-5 breaths or gently flow from one pose to the next.

Add them to your routine and let me know how you feel.

Love & light, Martiza
